are you a false prophet?

"All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching" non-believers about the saving grace that can be obtained by trusting in Christ Jesus alone. It is a tool of evangelism and spreading the Good News and all the joy that comes with it. But as a growing Christian, the Word of God plays an active role in "rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness."

It's important to remember that the devil is cunning. To believe that "evil" and "sin" is always clear and evident, without being fully engrained in the Word, is naive. Our battle as Christians aren't against non-christians, anti-christs, or people in general. Our battle is much more dangerous and spiritual. The temptation of Jesus shows the level of intelligence that the devil comes out at us with. His goal is not our physical bodies but the eternal fate of our soul. And if this very enemy uses the Word of God to draw us away, we should be all the more wary.

As Christians it is our duty to ensure that we ourselves are not strayed away, but more importantly that we ourselves to not become false prophets that lead others astray. It is a great responsibility for mature Christians to help guide the younger, but our great and good God provides us with the ultimate weapon, His Word. We should not be afraid of the powers of the devil, but we should become more reliant on God and have an urgency to "stay fit" to fight the spiritual battles ahead of us.
